Please Note: These are the HQSFF Film Programs from last year's Festival. This year's selections will be added before September 1.
Dive Into the Current
October 4, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.
Featuring: Tessitura, Dancing in Tomorrowland, Mommy, Kingdom, Orgy Every Other Day, Lesbians in Boystown
Never a shortage of issues for the queer community around the world. The last film is the much-anticipated work by Betsy Kalin, who served on the Selection Committee when this festival was the CMG Short Film Festival.

This Modern World
October 4th, 2025 at 7:00 PM
Featuring: Good Service, Match Dot Mom, Goodbye Party, Poreless, Blood Boys, The Eating of an Orange, Gender Reveal, Space Daddy
None of the films in this program would have been made in the last century, and many reflect an even more recent world. Whether it's a clandestine AI assistant trying to help a relationship or an ultramodern ad campaign, or a gender reveal party that goes horribly wrong, this program suggests the sheer craziness that prevails in much of this modern world.

Time to Murder and Create
October 5th, 2025 at 2:00 PM
Featuring: Sunday Sauce, Everything's Fine, XY, The Fangs I'm After, Stimulants and Empathogens, Girlfriend Girlfriend, MascLooking, Family Descent
The program title is, among other things, a quote from the classic T.S. Eliot poem The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock. It should be no surprise that in the opening year of Trump's second term as President, there's a lot of horror playing on silver screens all over the country. This program contains some films that many will find disturbing, but remember it's only a movie. Want real horror? Watch MSNBC for an hour.

Pairing Up
October 5th 2025 at 7:00 PM
Featuring: Two Black Boys in Paradise, Automagic, One day This Kid!, Pace, Feral, Mannequin, Fan Letter, Dragfox
If the horror of current events makes you crave shelter from the storm, you're not alone. Indeed, that craving is part of the human condition, and queer people do it as well as anyone.
